THE COST OF WAITING

Dangers of ignoring dog poop

Colton’s narrow side yards trap waste and odor, and properties toward the Santa Ana River bottom already see more pests than most.

01

Health Risks

Dog waste contains harmful bacteria and parasites like E. coli, Salmonella, and roundworms, which can cause illness in humans and pets.

02

Environmental Impact

When left uncollected, rain can wash waste into storm drains, polluting local waterways. This affects not only your yard, but your entire neighborhood!

03

Pest Attraction

Accumulated dog poop attracts pests like flies and rodents, creating additional health concerns. So let the best pooper scoopers in Colton keep it clean!

Why yards here are different

Three things that change how we work a Colton yard

01

Tight side yards

Narrower than newer builds and often the only route to the back. It's where waste accumulates and where a rushed service skips.

02

Older, smaller lots

Quotes here land at the lower end of our range, a genuine advantage if price has been the sticking point.

03

Near the river bottom

Properties toward the Santa Ana see more pests generally; keeping waste cleared removes one of the attractants you can control.

Three spots our techs would take their own dogs

Where to take your dog in Colton

Colton's K9 Memorial Dog Park and Veterans Park cover the basics in town, and the South Hills Preserve is the local trail. A dog-friendly beer bar in Grand Terrace and a coffee shop in Rialto round it out, both a few minutes away.

    South Hills Preserve

    4.616 Google reviews

South Hills Preserve is Colton's own trail system, reached from Hulda Crooks Park, and reviewers rate it among the best hiking and mountain-biking spots in the Inland Empire. Trails fan out in every direction, the hike near the park is fairly easy, and the views over the valley are the reward.

It is exposed, so from late spring to early fall go at dawn and carry water for the dog. Bikes and dirt bikes use the back sections, so keep the leash on and stay to the front trails with a dog. Parking is limited; the neighborhood takes the overflow.

Veterans Park on East O Street is a ball-field park with a splash pad the kids rate highly, a playground, and plenty of covered tables and chairs. Google marks it as allowing dogs, and there is enough open ground for a walk while the family is at the water.

The splash pad runs mainly on weekends and is not guaranteed on other days. Parking is limited. Keep the dog clear of the pad and the fields in use.

    Colton K9 Memorial Dog Park

    4.189 Google reviews

Colton K9 Memorial Dog Park is the city's dedicated dog park, two enclosed grass areas for large and small dogs, each with a drinking fountain and benches, shaded and peaceful when it is empty, which is often. Reviewers describe it as a hidden little secret for their dogs.

The access road behind the city building is rough on tires and there is little parking. After rain the turf has muddy holes. It is a small, quiet park that rewards a low-key dog; bring bags and water.
